OUI version not compatible error

I was trying to install the MLR#8 on BPEL 10.1.3.4 and as a prerequisite, I extracted the latest oPatch in SOA Oracle home but it fails when I apply the patch using opatch command. I also ran Prereq to check the OUI version compatibility but got the error,

Prereq "checkOUIVersionCompatible" failed

The details are: Required version of OUI is not present.The available version is 10.1.0.6.0

Solution:

Under Oracle SOA home:
1. Rename /oui directory to /oui.original

2. Copy the oui directory under the Oracle DB home to Oracle SOA home:
/oui to

3. Run OPatch update again

This issue occurs because the Oracle Universal Installer version in Oracle SOA suite is not updated to the latest one - and is not compatible with the latest OPatch version.
